I lead the AI department at Skye8 in Bamenda. The team reports to me, and I am responsible for the models we train, the pipelines that serve them, and the people who build them.
The work I am proudest of is inside Malegado, a language and culture learning app. I trained its text-to-text and text-to-speech models and built the chatbots and the real-time voice talk-back, so a learner can speak Hausa or Yoruba or Amharic and be answered out loud. The pipeline covers all 590 languages the app supports, and we are still adding more.
Right now the department is building Scholar AI, an AI tutor, learning management and school system in one.
I hold a B.Eng in Computer Engineering from NAHPI, the National Higher Polytechnic Institute at the University of Bamenda, and I am doing my M.Eng there now. I am open to senior AI roles and to consulting with companies that want AI that actually ships.
